Duchess Kate Country Home: Kate Middleton Redesigns 10-Bedroom Anmer Hall

Duchess Kate is almost finished decorating the country home that she shares with Prince William. According to E! News, Kate Middleton redesigned the 10-bedroom home with the help of architect Charles Morris. The renovations at Anmer Hall have been going on since October but things are looking good and are coming along just the way Kate had hoped. Kate and William added a 16-foot-by-16-foot “garden room” complete with a glass-roof off of the kitchen and also had the swimming pool refurbished. While William may have had a hand in the architectural things, Kate took the helm when it came to the interior design.

Duchess Kate wanted her country home to feel comfortable and she wanted to make it her own, not unlike her Kensington Palace renovations. Last year, Kate Middleton made sure that her house was a home and added plenty of personal touches. Although she didn’t spend too much money — Kate is quite practical when it comes to this sort of thing — Kate made sure to implement things that she likes and things that make her happy.

A source told People magazine:

“It’s like a fancy farmhouse. It isn’t grandiose. But it’s a great, friendly family environment.”

Naturally, Duchess Kate wanted her country home to be kid-friendly so that when she brings Prince George there, she doesn’t have to worry too much about him breaking something or getting into something that he shouldn’t. While she and William won’t be spending a great deal of time there, it’s a nice little retreat and it’s a place where they should both feel comfortable.

Kate Middleton has a knack for interior design and many say that she has great taste. She even did some shopping whilst Down Under with Prince William. She visited a rug store and picked out a few pieces — likely for her country home renovation.

Simon Knight, owner of Knights Oriental Rugs in Henley-on-Thames explained:

“[Kate] wants to put her own influence on [Anmer] because she wants it to be her own family home.”

Perhaps Duchess Kate will spend more time in the couple’s country home once the renovations are complete. She may even find peace there during hectic times, and it’s nice to have a little retreat. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, there have been some rumors that Kate Middleton is pregnant with her second child. While those are still just rumors, it seems as though Kate and William do want to add to their family in the not-so-distant future. It will be splendid for Prince George and his little brother or sister to spend time at Anmer Hall, don’t you think?
