Shailene Woodley Is Homeless, The Reason May Surprise You

The Fault In Our Stars actress Shailene Woodley revealed she is homeless, however, there’s a good explanation as to why the newest Hollywood belle does not have a place to call home.

The 22-year-old starlet paid a visit to ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, who said he was impressed that she could fit all her worldly possessions in just one suitcase, to which Shailene replied:

“Almost everything. I have some kitchen items that my grandma is using. But other than that, yeah, everything that I own and use is in a carry-on suitcase. I figure if I only own a few things and it gets lost, then I would get nothing.”

Very simplistic way of looking at material belonging for such a young person, but it comes as no surprise really, since Shailene Woodley has made it clear that she doesn’t care for the glitz and glamour of being a Hollywood star and is more comfortable wearing no makeup and jeans than she is in a designer night gown.

Kimmel continued telling Shailene he is amazed at her attitude and Woodley explained that it was actually easier than she thought to “downsize”:

“I was only home for 15 days last year and I got home and I was like, ‘I don’t want to be alone. I want to be with my friends and family. So, I got rid of everything just so I could have one suitcase that would be easy to transport between houses and just kind of couch surf for a few months. But it’s so refreshing and it takes so much stress away when you’re like, ‘Ugh, I only have one pair of jeans to wash.’ It’s so nice.”

Interesting indeed. Not everyday do we come across a celebrity, especially a young one like Shailene Woodley, who thinks in terms of having less and not more.

Woodley said she “used to have” a home in Los Angeles, but decided to give it to her grandma, since she is going to be working on the second installment of the Veronica Roth adaptations, Insurgent in which she stars with British hunk Theo James.

So where is Shailene calling home now?:

“Literally on friends’ couches,” the actress said. “I was only here in L.A. for two months, so when you’re home you kind of want to soak up faces and places…And then I leave again.”
