Zayn Malik may be one of the most famous boy-band members on the planet, but he’s also one of the richest.
Aspiring boy-band members everywhere would probably smear their make-up and throw up their cappuccinos in shock to learn of the combined wealth of Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Nial Horan.
Zayn and the rest of his One Direction bandmates are worth a cool £14million each. In the last year alone, Malik and his crew earned a staggering £45 million.
Not a bad 365 days work for Malik and the lads, who not so long ago were a bunch of wannabe hopefuls putting their hopes on a talent show.
According to The Sunday Times Rich List, Zayn Malik and One Direction are now the richest boy-band in British music history. Have they included The Beatles in this one wonders?
Malik and the rest of One Direction have worked their socks off to make it bigger than the Titanic in the shark-infested waters of the music industry.
Guided competently on their voyage to superstardom by Captain Simon Cowell, Malik, Styles, Payne, Tomlinson, and Horan have all manned the decks admirably aboard the good ship Ambition.
Like a gruff old sea dog, Captain Cowell, has barked his orders and Zayn Malik and the rest of the One Direction crew have manned their stations and obeyed without question.
Zayn Malik and the lads’ blind obedience to Simon Cowell’s vision has certainly paid off handsomely.
Throughout their recent world tour, merchandise sales and one lucrative endorsement deal after the other, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Nial Horan have made some serious dollars.
Although the lucrative One Erection condom idea was never fully exploited, Malik and the rest of One Direction seem to have something of a Midas touch at the moment.
Simon Cowell, who incidentally is worth £300million, but still can’t seem to find a pair of jeans that fit properly, couldn’t ask for more when it comes to Zayn Malik and co.
Malik and One Direction have broken America without the slightest grunt or groan. More importantly, Zayn and his mates have retained their dignity and aura of professionalism, which is a lot more than can be said for artists such as Miley Cyrus.
Sunday Times Rich List editor Ian Coxon commented: “One Direction have had top-selling albums, sell-out tours, DVDs, a book and they have even endorsed a perfume. There hasn’t been another boy-band who have made so much money so quickly.”
Fellow Brit band The Beatles once famously sang Can’t Buy Me Love, but as Zayn Malik no doubt appreciates, £14 million can certainly buy you peace of mind.
