Barefoot Bandit Movie in the Works

It has been over a year since the barefoot bandit, Colton Harris-Moore, went on his infamous crime spree that included stealing cars, a boat, an airplane, and robbing a bank and at least 100 private residences through the Pacific Northwest US.

The string of crimes landed the 20-year-old Harris-Moore seven felony charges, all to which he plead guilty, a slew of internet followers, and a movie based on his ridiculous story, which many liken to the film Catch Me If You Can.

At this point in time, it is unknown who play the role of the notorious barefoot burglar in the Twentieth Century Fox movie which is reportedly going to be titled “Taking Flight: The Hunt for a Young Outlaw.”

What we do know however, is that Harris-Moore will not directly profit from the upcoming flick’s proceeds.

Colton, who owes more than $1.4 million in restitution to his victims, agreed to forfeit any money made through the selling of his story as a part of his plea agreement made earlier in June.

Harris-Moore is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 28 for his federal crimes.

Check out the the trailer below for Stealing Suburbia, another barefoot bandit based short film which debuted earlier this year at Cannes Film Festival’s Short Film Corner.
