Indiana Pacers Add Kevin Pritchard To Front Office

The Indiana Pacers have hired former Portland Trail Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard to their roster as the director of player personnel. Pritchard worked wonders with his former team, helping place them back into playoff contention and he will now work closely with the teams GM David Morway and president Larry Bird.

Morway said of the move:

“Larry and I feel like Kevin is a strong addition to our franchise,” while adding, “We’re looking forward to him working with us. He’s been a player, coach and in management in this league. Those are all pluses for us.”

As part of his duties Pritchard will help scout upcoming talent and help with free agency issues that arise within the teams ranks.

Morway continued:

“He offers another set of eyes in improving our team as we move into the next phase of things.”

As part of his accomplishments Pritchard oversaw the 2007 draft which selected Greg Oden over Kevin Durant and secured long term deals for team all-star Brandon Roy and LeMarcus Aldridge in 2009.

One hour before the 2010 draft Pritchard was fired by the Trailblazers and he claims to this day that there was no reason given for his firing.

Pritchard has been given a one year contract.
