Hugh Jackman’s Skin Cancer Returns

X-Men actor Hugh Jackman took to Twitter yet again to address his second scare with skin cancer. Just like before, Hugh used Twitter to release a personal public service announcement about the importance of sunscreen as well as sharing photos of himself post-operation.

The 45-year-old actor also took to his Instagram to post the important message. Just like his first cancer scare, Hugh took a picture with a bandage over his nose that he received after getting a basal-cell carcinoma removed.

Basal-cell carcinoma is one of the most common forms of skin cancer, and although this type of skin cancer is rarely fatal, it can lead to severe disfigurement to the surrounding tissues if left untreated. When we first reported on Jackman’s condition, it was malignant. Jackman hasn’t come forward to change his status, so it’s still assumed that his second bout of skin cancer is still malignant.

Jackman once again wrote on his Twitter and Instagram:

“Another Basal Cell Carcinoma. All out now. Thanks Dr. Albom and Dr. Arian.”

The actor tweeted another message about his skin cancer:

In addition, his Instagram message also came with an all caps warning to those who don’t take sun screen seriously:

“PLEASE! PLEASE! WEAR SUNSCREEN!”

Hugh Jackman’s first ordeal with skin cancer went public in November of 2013 after the actor posted a personal message to his social network accounts, along with a photo.

Here’s the photo of his bandaged nose back in 2013:

Back then, the actor seemed to take it all in stride even though he acknowledged the serious nature of his carcinoma:

“Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a basal cell carcinoma. Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!”

As it is, Hugh Jackman is plenty busy these days despite his cancer scares. As we previously reported Hugh Jackman has a few X-Men obligations to get through. In addition to the upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past, Jackman has to return to play the role of Wolverine in the third solo film in addition to the two X-Men films. He also has a role in Blackbeard as Pan and announced that he will be starring in The River on Broadway later in the year.
