Prince William Flies Coach On Return Trip From Memphis
Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton are known for being frugal in their daily lives, which was more apparent than ever when he took a commercial flight to attend a friend’s wedding in Memphis and sat in coach, as many of us mere mortals do.
It’s not every day that you see a royal flying with regular folk and so when reporter Eli Ross, who works for Memphis based Local 24 News and CW 30 News, spotted the unmistakable bald head of Prince William, sitting by a window a few rows ahead from him, he was very surprised.
Ross took to Twitter to share the unusual incident:

Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the family’s newest rock star, their son, Prince George, recently returned from a trip to Australia and New Zealand, where the Duchess of Cambridge was seen in the same outfit on more than one occasion and also repeated ones she had used in other official outings.
Ross’ exclusive reporting not only garnered local attention, but apparently that of the Palace, which isn’t very happy that news that the future king of England travels on a commercial airplane surrounded by strangers.

Prince William and his wife — who didn’t accompany her husband on this trip — are well liked by their subjects, who see them as more down to earth than any other royal couple in history, a trend started by Wills’ mom, Princess Diana.
The late royal made it a point of raising her two sons as down-to-earth as was possible considering their stations in life, which many see as entitled, and, following reports that the royal family is experiencing some financial difficulties, it is good to see them lead by example.
British tabloid Daily Mail reported on the wedding details, and also speculates that Prince William travels commercial to keep the cost for his security detail down.
According to the British publication, Prince William asked for water during the hour-and-a-half flight and took his own luggage on board, while watched by security officials. In case you are wondering, it was reported that Prince Harry took a separate commercial flight home following the wedding.
