Adam Levine’s ‘Blonde Ambition’ The Most Talked About Thing On This Week’s ‘The Voice’

Forget the show-stopping performances of the Top 8 hopefuls, or the official introductory performances of the new coaches that rocked the house. The most talked about thing on NBC’s hit TV show The Voice was, are you ready for this? Adam Levine’s bleach blonde locks.

Yes, that’s right folks. Forget about the music. Levine’s new Miley-inspired hairdo stole the spotlight.

The bromance between Blake and Adam seems to be a little tense after Blake playfully quipped that Adam was channeling Meg Ryan with his new ‘do. Blake even went one step further to say, ‘Both my wives are blonde now!’

Adam fired back at Blake saying that if Blake dyed his blonde, he’d look like Kenny Rogers. The attempted insult was lost on Blake however who said he’d probably resemble Hulk Hogan a bit more.

Adam told E! News the reason behind his new ‘do with just a touch of chagrin:

There are so many things to talk about. There are are so many important things going on in the world. I didn’t know anybody would be so fixated on this. I wanted to do something crazy. I don’t know why I did it. I really couldn’t tell you logically there was a reason. I just wanted to do it and honestly, it’s so much of a headache now I might want to shave my head or something.

He also spoke out against people talking trash about his blonde hair on Twitter:

Half the people on Twitter who say those things would never say those things to my face. It is really easy to get up there anonymously and talk (expletive)! It’s all good, I don’t need people to like my (expletive) hair, I honestly don’t care! I hope people understand that when they say my hair looks creepy I take that as the highest compliment.

And as far as his fiance Behati Prinsloo is concerned?

She loves it. She loves the hair.

Adam’s own Christina Grimmie, who has recently secured her spot in The Voice Top 5 even came to Adam’s defense saying:

Regardless of what Blake said, my motto is just do what you want. If people hate it, they hate it, and I’m sure Adam knows that. He was very prepared to hear what Blake had to say. I dig it. I dig anything that is a little rebellious and a little off the beaten path.

Even Team Shakira’s own Kristen Merlin showed support for Adam’s blonde tresses:

You know what, high-five to him for rocking that hairdo. It was tough when I went platinum. It’s such a shock to everybody, so I applaud him for rocking that.

Even Kat Perkins, Sisaundra Lewis, and Josh Kaufman came to Adam’s defense as well.

You know, when the Sexiest Man Alive steals your hairstyle you can only feel honored,’ joked Team Blake’s Sisaundra Lewis, He’s in the blond club now, so he makes us all even more sexy!

Kat Perkins, a Team Adam favorite quipped:

I’ll make mine platinum blonde, and we can see if blonds have more fun for reals.

And even though Team Usher’s Josh Kaufman thought Adam’s hair would be a train wreck, his tune soon changed:

I heard about it and I thought, ‘I’m not sure that that’s going to be OK, but then when I actually saw it, I actually think he looks pretty cool with it. But he’s Adam so he can do whatever he wants and get away with it.
