Teen Burglars Shot Terrorizing Elderly Widow ‘Didn’t Deserve To Die,’ Says Family

Two teen burglars were shot to death after breaking in to an elderly widow’s home in the Sacramento area.

The victim said she was afraid to stay in her home due to a rash of recent break-ins — dozens in her immediate vicinity, according to CBS 13 out of Sacramento — as well as two break-ins at her own location.

The pro-gun website BearingArms.com (elated over the deaths) noted that fingerprints from one of the teens matched those taken from a previous burglary at the woman’s house.

Still, the deceased’s families are upset that deadly forced was used, and they’re speaking out about it.

“They didn’t deserve to get killed,” said Christina Sambrano, the sister of 14-year-old Michael Sambrano, one of the victims. “They were on their way out the door, and I just think it was wrong that they were shot.”

“I just don’t understand why they were shot multiple times and killed,” said Lisa Sambrano, another family member.

Perhaps to fill in some of the blanks for Lisa and Christina, who acknowledge that the boys were committing a crime, CBS 13 shares this report from the police:

The woman who lived at the home where the teens were shot asked her brother to stay with her after thieves targeted her home twice before, including one of the teen suspects shot dead in her home on Sunday.

“He was not an innocent bystander,” said neighbor David Keck. “I’m sorry the little boys or teenagers were killed, but if it’s my family, my family comes first.”

Police did not identify the second shooting victim right away, but did note that it was the 16-year-old best friend of the deceased Sembrano.

Police would also not identify whether it was the elderly woman herself or her brother (or a combination of the two), who pulled the trigger.

This certainly hasn’t been the first report of a criminal or group of criminals targeting a gun-owning homeowner only to have their lives taken in the process.

Last week, The Inquisitr reported on a German exchange student who was shot in the head and arm when he illegally entered the premises of one homeowner. That shooter is currently being brought up on charges for “baiting” the teen perpetrator, while 65-year-old Byron Smith was recently convicted and sentenced to life in prison for killing two teen burglars and recording his elation at their deaths on audio.

According to California law, a person can use deadly force on someone who unlawfully and forcibly enters their home if they have a reasonable fear of “imminent peril of death, or great bodily injury.”

In the Sacramento case, it’s still too early to tell whether authorities will determine the shooters protected by the circumstances of the break-in.

Did these two teen burglars earn their fates, or are they victims who truly didn’t “deserve to be killed”?
