Pregnant Woman Stabs Boyfriend To Death In Front of His Son Because He Didn’t Buy Her a Birthday Gift

Its no secret that women are extremely emotional during pregnancy. Its true that it doesn’t take much to set off a pregnant woman. However, one pregnant woman has taken things way too far.

According to the 89-WLS, Miata Phelan has been arrested after she reportedly stabbed her boyfriend, Larry Martin, to death. But, what would push a woman to commit such a crime? Well, Phelan was allegedly furious because her boyfriend hadn’t purchased her a gift for her birthday.

Prosecutors stated that she and her 28-year-old boyfriend became embroiled in a heated argument, which led to the fatal incident on April 30. Phelan, who is seven months pregnant, became enraged when she learned that he’d purchased a gift for his 8-year-old son and cousin at a shopping mall. However, he hadn’t bought anything for Phelan. Court records indicated that Phelan’s birthday was the following day, May 1.

Asst. State’s Attorney Glen Runk gave a detailed account of the incident. He explained that the two got into a verbal altercation during their ride home. She accused Martin of being selfish and inconsiderate. It was also reported that she hit Martin while he was driving and almost caused them to have an accident. However, when he made a quick stop, Phelan reportedly stole the vehicle, leaving Martin, his son and cousin stranded.

When they made it to the apartment, Martin banged on the door and demanded to be let in. When Phelan opened the door she immediately plunged a knife into his left side once he entered the apartment. Unfortunately, Runk stated that Martin’s 8-year-old son walked in right behind him and witnessed the fatal stabbing. Martin staggered out of the apartment fell to the ground on a nearby sidewalk outside of the apartment. Phelan reportedly showed absolutely no remorse for her actions.

Here’s what she had to say:

“This is what you get for messing with me. I hope you die, motherf–ker,” she said to Martin.

Martin was pronounced dead at the Advocate Christ Medical Center. Phelan faces first-degree murder charges, and has a bond set at $1 million dollars.
