Ozzy Osbourne: The New Bat-Man?

Ozzy Osbourne can make for interesting headlines. This time around is no different. Ozzy has a 17th century barn on his property near his Buckinghamshire mansion. It is his desire to convert the barn into a two-bedroom home. But much to Ozzy’s dismay, he was refused planning permission because the barn was already a home to a large number of brown long-eared bats.

The brown long-eared bats are considered a protected species and prevents Ozzy from damaging their natural habitat. Ozzy could fight it, but it could take years, and at 65 years old, should Ozzy really be taking on a battle that could take years?

One can’t help but recognize the irony in this scenario. Headlines, once again, were made for Ozzy when he performed a concert in Iowa back in 1982. Someone threw a bat on-stage. Ozzy picked up the bat, which he claims he thought was rubber, put the bat to his mouth, and Ozzy proceeded to bite off it’s head.

Ozzy later tried to explain his actions when he said, “Something felt wrong. Very wrong. For a start my mouth was instantly full of this warm, gloopy liquid. Then the head in my mouth twitched,” Ozzy said.

Ozzy had to pay a visit to the hospital and be treated for rabies for that mishap.

Not only are the bats getting their revenge on Ozzy in his barn, but Ozzy’s bat head biting incident may also cost him his Knighthood. Yes, you read correctly. Knighthood. A fan by the name of Helen Madiotis started a petition of Ozzy’s fans to have him awarded Knighthood. She received over 5,000 signatures in Ozzy’s favor. However, the bat incident, according to I4U News, may cause Ozzy problems in getting approval to become Sir Ozzy.

Ozzy, it may be in your best interest to stay out of the barn.
