Just when we thought the New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys were done making announcements in regards to their projects, it looks like the two leads from both of those bands are creating a new project. Jordan Knight from the New Kids on the Block and Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys are joining forces for a collaboration.
Mixing their looks with their leading vocals, Jordan Knight and Nick Carter have decided to make an album together and will promote said album with a tour for their adoring fans. Unlike most NKOTB and BSB ventures, this will not include the other guys and will be an exclusive project from Knight and Carter.
It's being reported by Billboard that the two are set to release this special album on September 2 and will tour in support of it a mere 13 days later. If you're interested in purchasing Nick and Jordan's album, you can pre-order it on their own site that they have decided to cleverly name nickandknight.com.
For those who want a taste of the new musical project by the former heartthrobs of the 80s and 90s, fans can hear a bit of a preview in the form of a song called "Just The Two of Us." It sounds like Jordan and Nick are right on the money when aptly naming their project and songs, so perhaps this venture will produce a sound that's in sync.
As for Knight and Carter's tour, this isn't just a limited tour like we've been seeing from other co-headlining acts that come together. Billboard states the tour will consist of 39-city dates:
"The 39-city tour kicks off on Sept. 15 in Nashville, Tenn. and includes a concert at New York's Best Buy Theater (Oct. 10) and two shows in the L.A. area: at the House of Blues in West Hollywood and Anaheim on Nov. 14 and 15. The North American jaunt wraps up on Nov. 22 in Calgary."The announcement about Knight and Carter's collaboration was featured on ABC's Good Morning America, which has been a show that has supported the union of Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block in recent years. The show itself has hosted a bevy of announcements from the reunion of NKOTB to the tour that saw both bands coming together.
During their appearance on Good Morning America, Carter said:
"We're almost pretty much done with the album. It's a bunch of our pop, rock, R&B and urban. It's all mixed together to create Nick & Knight."Before fans think that this means there's a rift between the other members, you can rest easy because according to the guys, all of the members are supportive of this new collaboration from Jordan Knight and Nick Carter.
