Amy Purdy Rushed To Hospital Following DWTS Performance

Amy Purdy gave a stunning performance on Monday night’s Dancing with the Stars along with her partner Derek Hough. The pair pulled off a fantastic 36/40 point rumba which slotted nicely into the show’s Latin theme.

After dancing their feet off to a curiously slowed down rendition of The Doors’ “Light My Fire”, head judge Len Goodman proclaimed excitedly: “You lit my fire!… First out, first class. You were stunning. You made me feel a lot of things.”

Unfortunately, the night didn’t end well for Amy Purdy who found herself being rushed to a local hospital with a nasty shoulder injury. The injury was reportedly so bad that Purdy was unable to perform the group dance with her team at the end of the night.

Following the rumba, James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd took to the stage, performing a very sexy samba, which Peta announced in her blog. “That was filthy, that was dirty! Your chemistry is beyond sick,” said judge Bruno Tonioli to the duo who got a respectable 35-points for their routine.

A broken rib didn’t stop Danica McKellar, who performed next with partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy. Even though they only achieved 33 points, their salsa was, by all accounts, awesome. Goodman said about the performance: “It was a little bit careful… But overall you’re injury was difficult. Well done.”

Next up were Charlie White and Sharma Burgess, who performed an energetic Paso doble. The routine secured 36 points, but Goodman said about the performance: “To get a 10 you have to do something spectacular and this wasn’t spectacular.”

Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy achieved the highest points of the night with an amazing 39 score following their complex salsa which even shocked Inaba. Amy Purdy is said to be doing well following her shoulder injury and hopes to return to Dancing with the Stars in the not too distant future.
