Lena Headey Splashes Out $790,000 On ‘Fixer-Upper’ In Sherman Oaks

Lena Headey revealed to reporters just a year ago that she had only $5 in her bank account.

Headey, who plays Queen Cersei in the Game of Thrones, has come a long way in such a short time, purchasing a perfect “fixer-upper” home in Sherman Oaks, CA for a mere $790,000.

Headey nailed the deal on April 4 and is now the proud owner of the delightful 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 1,808 square foot property.

Back in 2013 Lena Headey spoke about the difficult financial straits she was in at the time. Those issues related back to her divorce in 2012 from husband Peter Loughran where she was petitioning for half of the couple’s tax return, claiming she needed the funds to feed her two-year-old son.

Things got even worse financially for Headey when she sold her home in the Laurel Canyon area in Los Angeles. The property was purchased by Headey and Loughran in 2008 for $1,685,000 but was sold at a loss at the end of 2012 for $1,349,000.

The new Sherman Oaks property may not be much to look at and certainly needs a whole lot of work to make it into a dream home. Nevertheless, it has great potential and is situated in one of the very best neighborhoods that Sherman Oaks has to offer.

The home is is a mid-century build but with a modern twist and is located on a very quiet and peaceful suburban street. The master suit has a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom and the property is spacious and, being open plan, lets in a lot of light as well as some great cross breezes.

The yard also has a great swimming pool and extensive gardens which, when brought up to standard, will look great. The original owners of the property who sold it to Lean Headey were represented by Ben DI Benedetto of Keller Williams Studio City.
