Justin Bieber Wanted To Propose’ To ‘Future Wife’ In Central Park, To Selena Gomez?

Is Justin Bieber thinking of popping the big question to on-off girlfriend Selena Gomez?

Striking a pose in Central Park, New York City, on Saturday, April 26, the 20-year-old had marriage on his mind in an Instagram photo post, in which he revealed the famous park was where he had wanted to propose to a “future wife.”

“Was gonna wait to go to Central Park for when I proposed to my future wife,” Justin wrote alongside the outdoor scene, adding, “but s–t sometimes things change.”

The singer’s next line suggests he plans on upgrading his proposal plans, vowing: “I’ll think of something more romantic.'”

Recently returned from a vacation in Japan that ended sourly when he had to apologize for unwittingly visiting a war shrine that houses 14 Class-A war criminals, Bieber’s Central Park outfit was reminiscent of styles found in Japan’s Harajuku district.

The “Baby” star teamed a Fedora hat with a white short-sleeved sweatshirt over black pants, white hi-top sneakers, and a Japanese cloth wrapped around his waist, as he gestured in the hip-hop “West Side” hand-sign understood to represent California.

Although Justin didn’t mention Selena’s name, this past week the Canadian posted a sweet “throwback” picture of the couple playing with his step-siblings during a 2012 Malibu Beach outing.

The snap sparked hopeful speculation among “Jelena” fans that gossip reports claiming he has “bailed” on Gomez by refusing to move into her new Calabasas, California home, and a tabloid rumor of an unlikely fling with Kylie Jenner — are off-base.

Selena was recently seen with Justin at Coachella on April 13 where he made a surprise guest appearance during pal Chance The Rapper’s set.

TMZ later published candids of the reportedly inseparable pair getting close among festival goers.

So, is Gomez the “future wife” Bieber has in his sights? Or have we all missed a beat?

The pair have been dogged by proposal, engagement and marriage rumors throughout their on-off three year relationship, but the Biebs’ latest admission may suggest he now wants to make a commitment to the Latina starlet.

Hours before Justin’s Central Park visit, the superstar was spotted meeting hysterical fans outside his New York hotel.

Several over-excited, teenage girls posted Instagram videos or selfies of the impromptu meet with Bieber to their social media accounts.

It was a more rapturous welcome that Bieber received from US customs officials on arriving at LAX from Tokyo on Thursday.

After touching down at 1 pm, the singer was detained and questioned for almost five hours while his crew and bodyguards waited.

Bieber eventually emerged to a scrum of paparazzi, news outlets and a few fans at around 6.30 pm.

A source close to the star tells Us Weekly:

“It was a routine secondary set of questioning that Justin has to go through now every time he comes back in the country because he’s a foreign national,” but TMZ and other outlets report Bieber’s open criminal cases mean he will be flagged whenever he tries to enter the US.

Whether the embattled singer makes good on his proposal plans with Selena remains to be seen, but something put a smile on her face in an Instagram video she posted yesterday.

Gomez’s video, which features Brit artist Corinne Bailey Rae’s 2006 hit “Put Your Records On,” follows a full week of speculation about her mass Instagram ‘unfollows’ and attendance at a deposition for one of Bieber’s lawsuits.

To use the vernacular: Justin, if you’re going to propose to Selena can you just get on with it already!
