Demi Lovato Is Afraid Of ‘Being Vulnerable In Front Of The World’

Demi Lovato might seem like someone who doesn’t have a problem showing her softer side to the world, but the singer is actually very afraid of being vulnerable in the public eye.

Shortly after her stint in rehab, the former X Factor judge didn’t hesitate to share her experiences with fans. Instead of keeping these experiences bottled up and tucked away in a dark closet, Demi decided to discuss her struggle with addiction in an effort to help those who were going through the same thing.

However, Demi Lovato recently revealed that she’s a little worried about being vulnerable in front of others. According to The Huffington Post, the singer is still working every day to make sure her life and career are in tip-top shape.

“I have the same worries and fears that everyone does. I’m afraid of spiders. I’m afraid of changing my hair and hating it. I’m afraid of being vulnerable in front of the world,” Lovato explained.

She added, “I’m a warrior. People think that I’ve got myself together, but I’m actually still a work in progress.”

Despite her fears of being vulnerable, Lovato was quite frank about her problems with addiction last year. During an interview with Access Hollywood, she discussed just how deep her problem with drugs and alcohol ran.

The “Neon Lights” singer explained:

“Something I’ve never talked about before, but with my drug use I could hide it to where I would sneak drugs. I couldn’t go without 30 minutes to an hour without cocaine and I would bring it on airplanes. I would smuggle it basically and just wait until everyone in first class would go to sleep and I would do it right there. I’d sneak to the bathroom and I’d do it.”

Demi Lovato is definitely a warrior. The singer doesn’t have a problem shutting down haters who give her grief on social media. If you want to press your luck with Demi, then tweet something obnoxious in her general direction and see what happens. Some people discovered that she isn’t the sort of person you can easily push around.

Although she’s previously hit back at her detractors with stern messages, The Inquisitr recently reported that Lovato decided to fight the hate with love. Hopefully this technique will work better for her than it has for others.

“Dear haters, you don’t have to like me cause I love you. Everyone’s equal, everyone has a soul and everyone deserves to be loved,” the singer tweeted.
