Tattooed Man Randomly Stabs Toddler As Horrified Mom Pleads With Him To Stop

A mom was outside in the courtyard of her Houston, Texas, apartment complex with her three-year-old son when a man whose face was covered in tattoos — including a smiley face on his left cheek — walked up and stabbed the preschooler, who was playing with other children, in the back of the neck.

The incident happened on Tuesday at a housing block in northeast Houston. Police still have no idea what drove 21-year-old Jose Guillermo Molina to attack little Emmanuel Veloz, but the tough toddler is incredibly already out of the hospital.

The weirdly tattooed Molina stabbed the boy repeatedly, and tried to choke him as well.

The mom said that when she heard her son scream she ran over to stop Molina, who had already plunged the kitchen knife into the boy’s neck. Ignoring the mother’s pleas, Molina stabbed the boy again.

A witness, neighbor Lydia Hernandez, described the horrifying scene to a local TV station.

“He grabbed the little boy by the neck, pulled his head back and stabbed him in the neck three times,” Hernandez told station KPRC. “After he stabbed him, he put the little boy on the ground and put his knee on the little boy’s chest, and he was trying to choke him and the mother kept begging him to leave him alone.”

Molina then walked away, casually tossing his weapon aside. Police quickly found and arrested him.

Neighbors in the apartment complex say that Molina lives next door to the family of Emmanuel Veloz. They also said that Molina has experienced mental health problems.

The tattooed man has earlier served jail time for attacking his own mother. He has a criminal mischief case on his record as well, which also resulted in jail time. But why he seemingly attempted to kill Emmanuel Veloz is a puzzle to Houston investigators.

The facially tattooed Molina is currently held without bond in Harris County Jail. He is so far charged with injury to a child.

Emmanuel Veloz was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was at first listed in stable condition. He was later released and seen being carried home by his mom, with a large bandage on his neck.
