Bob Barker is bringing an animal rescue storyline to a long-running CBS soap opera.
Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful will see a very familiar face in a three-day story arc later this month. Barker, who spent decades on the network during his stint on the legendary game show The Price is Right, recently signed on for a role on the soap.
According to CBS News, Bob Barker will play himself during his appearance on The Bold and the Beautiful. Folks who have followed Barker’s career for any length of time know that he’s devoted a substantial amount of his life to making the world better for animals.

We’re sure you’re wondering how will Bob Barker work himself into the soap opera’s storyline. The New York Daily News points out that the former Price is Right host is the subject of an interview by Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). The journalist is working on a article about how the planet can help control the pet population, something Barker knows a thing or two about.
The television personality’s love of animals and his dedication to activism prompted him to publicly criticize the classic CBS game show after they awarded contestants with trips to Sea World and the Calgary Stampede. Bob Barker explained that he was genuinely disgusted and ashamed of what the series had become since his departure.
“I don’t know why I wasn’t asked to take part [in the 40th anniversary] in some way… But I do know I am ashamed of the show and surprised at their complete disregard for the welfare of animals. Were I still there, a prize to attend the Calgary Stampede would never have been considered. We never did anything that condoned animal cruelty. Apparently, things have changed,” Barker explained.
Despite his problems with The Price is Right, Bob eventually calmed those turbulent waters for a guest appearance on his birthday. Apparently the folks at CBS didn’t hold anything against him, otherwise he probably wouldn’t have an opportunity to spread his message about pet population control on The Bold and the Beautiful.
Fans of Bob Barker should clear their schedules for the guy’s appearance on the soap opera later this month. The 90-year-old activist will kick off the three-day storyline on April 30. Are you looking forward to catching the former game show host on The Bold and the Beautiful?
