Sarah Gore: Al Gore’s Daughter Gets Married Underneath Giant Torrey Pine Tree

Sarah Gore is now married, and the daughter of former Vice President Al Gore picked quite the scenic location for her nuptials.

Gore and new husband Patrick Maiani chose to get married in the middle of a California beach town called Carpinteria, right beside an enormous Torrey pine tree.

The location may seem appropriate for the Gore family. Sarah’s father Al has been known for his environmental advocacy, including the book and subsequent movie An Inconvenient Truth about the dangers of man-made global warming.

Sarah Gore seemed to love the wedding location as well.

“We loved the energy of the tree and what it represents for our marriage, with strong roots and shade – and warm drinks just steps away!” she told People magazine.

The couple has something of an unconventional story. Patrick and Sarah met last June in a real-estate open house on the street that Patrick grew up in. Sarah recalls that the meeting was completely by chance.

“I was getting to know the neighborhood, walked into this little house, and he was there, sitting on the couch,” she said.

After they went on a date, Patrick closed the deal with his piano playing skills, Sarah added.

“Once we started talking, we didn’t want to stop,” she recalled. “We took a walk to get coffee, ended up having dinner and afterwards dancing at the Biltmore [Hotel], where he sat down at the piano and played – he’s an amazing pianist and songwriter.”

The wedding followed a bit of a theme for the couple. Sarah Gore and Patrick Maiani got engaged in the midst of nature, with Patrick popping the question atop Saddle Rock on a hiking path known as Hot Springs Trail.
