Was Ellen DeGeneres Invited To Jodie Foster’s Wedding?

Ellen DeGeneres is making relationship news. But this time, it’s not about her current love. It’s the recent nuptials of fellow Hollywood A-lister Jodie Foster to DeGeneres’ ex, Alexandra Hedison.

Foster and Hedison got hitched over the weekend, TIME reports, after dating less than a year. The news was confirmed Wednesday by Foster’s publicist, who did not give details about the ceremony or guest list.

Foster has two sons with her former partner of twenty years, Cydney Bernard, who split with Foster in 2008, according to ABC News.

Ellen DeGeneres made a ruckus when she came out publicly in 1997, praised for opening doors of acceptance to members of the same-sex community in Hollywood. Since then, she’s been recognized for her talent, likeability and support for gay causes.

Jodie Foster, on the other hand, has been notoriously guarded about her private life. What is cited as her public “coming out” at the 2013 Golden Globes began as a joke that she had one big revelation to make: that she was single.

Hedison, a Los Angeles-based photographer, and DeGeneres ended their relationship in 2004. Since then, Ellen has famously moved on to marry noted actress Portia de Rossi. Despite recent rumors their relationship is in trouble, Ellen told People magazine she “falls more in love with Portia all the time.” There’s a 15-year age difference between the two: Ellen is 56, and Portia 41.

Rossi and DeGeneres were married in August 2008, after dating for more than three years. Their wedding was attended by only 19 guests, according to People, including the mother of each spouse.

Relationship success aside, the iconic celebrity is on a recent winning streak. Her syndicated talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show continues to attract top guests, with a winning formula of light interviews, celebrity games and feel-good stories about everyday people. In March, she was tapped to host the Academy Awards for a second time. A popular personality and comedienne, Ellen drew praise for her humor and ease with Oscar nominees and industry powerhouses in the audience.

Famously, DeGeneres made internet history by gathering Hollywood elite for a selfie that was the most-tweeted picture ever.

It was at the Oscars that Portia and Ellen made a strong statement about the strength of their relationship, appearing together at the Vanity Fair after party. The couple was not shy about posing for paparazzi, demonstrating their marriage is on solid ground and topping off a successful evening for DeGeneres.
