‘Halo 5’ News: Plot Teased In Comics

The latest Halo 5 news is here! It seems the plot of the upcoming 343 Industries title was teased in the latest issue of the Halo comics, though much of the story remains a mystery. We could see a lot revealed when E3 2014 hits.

It seems Master Chief didn’t completely destroy the Didact after all. According to official lore, the Didact is almost impossible to kill, so the end of Halo 4 could have been just a major setback for the series villain, which may regenerate faster than we think. According to a source for information on the comic book series, the Didact may just return in less than three days after John-117 “defeated” them.

The official blurb is as follows:

The Master Chief returns in “The Next 72 Hours: Part 1”! After defeating the Didact, John-117 joined the crew of Infinity … but why did he leave? The mystery begins here. Halo lead writer Brian Reed (Amazing Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel) reveals the secret events that immediately follow the end of Halo 4.

Apparently in the latest Halo 5 news, Master Chief has left the Infinity shortly after joining and nobody knows why, but it could be connected to the almost immediate return of the Didact. The next Halo could almost be considered a spinoff to the last game, much like some entries from Assassin’s Creed.

The UNSC seems to be keeping the Didact a secret, and Master Chief probably knows about it. Hence he’s left to take them on alone without telling his superiors. Could Halo 5 feature John-117 taking on the Didact and the UNSC all at once? This points to what could end up being one of the most epic stories 343 Industries has done yet since taking over the franchise, as one man takes on not only his greatest challenge, but also his former allies.

We will know more when E3 2014 hits, including a possible Halo 5 release date.
