Mimi Faust, Nikko Smith SexTape Sales Hit Record High, Steve Harvey Weighs In With a Message to Mimi

Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta stars Mimi Faust and Nikko Smith dominated headlines last week with the leak of their infamous, homemade sex tape, Mimi & Nikko: Scandal in Atlanta.

Now, the numbers are revealing just how much the reality TV couple has impacted the Internet since the video’s trailer was released on Monday, Apr. 14. As a matter of fact, several news outlets, namely TMZ are even questioning if the Faust is slated to be the “new queen of sex tapes.”

According to TMZ, pre-sale orders for the scandalous X-rated tape are through the roof. Faust and Smith reportedly inked a $125K deal with Vivid Entertainment to publish and distribute the tape. However, the sales have already topped three times that amount, garnering more than an estimated $400K. Steve Hirsch, founder and co-chairman of the adult entertainment company, spoke with the publication company to confirm the reports about the spike in sales. Hirsch explained that the sales derived from the release of the official trailer for the tape.

The jaw-dropping footage and the ever-popular shower rod scene sent the Internet into a frenzy. Faust and Smith immediately became a massive trending topic of discussion among fans alike. However, there were some who felt otherwise and had no problems expressing their disdain of the couple’s sexual escapades.

Comedian-actor Steve Harvey decided to voice his opinion of the video from a different perspective, making it clear that he did not support her decision to release the footage. During his morning radio show segment, he cautioned the Atlanta reality TV starlet about devaluing herself for the sake of monetary gain.

“Stop thinking about right now, whatever little momentary 5 minutes of fame and little piece of little change it’s going to put in your pocket,” Harvey said. “Whatever money they put in your pocket, it’s not going to be worth the hell that comes with it. It’s not going to be worth your reputation. It ain’t going to be worth your image. It ain’t gonna be worth nothing as it lives in cyberspace forever.”

However, Faust stands behind her decision. She even took to Instagram with a quick message to everyone who voiced their opinion about her decision.

Mimi & Nikko: Scandal in Atlanta is set to be released on Monday, Apr. 21 on Vivid.com.
