Pennsylvania Mom Gives Birth To 13 Pound Baby!

A baby weighing 13 pounds was born to an expecting Pennsylvania couple. The baby was delivered by c-section last Monday, as reported by ABC affiliate WPVI. While the couple knew that their baby was big, they never expected him to weigh four pounds more than what they were told by doctors. The proud parents of the big baby who has been named Waldo James Mysterious Dwyer, are Brian Dwyer and Danielle Dwyer. The exact weight of baby Dwyer at birth was 13 pounds, 8 ounces!

“We knew he was big but not that big,” a gleaming Danielle Dwyer told the reporter from WPVI. She added that doctors had estimated baby Dwyer to weigh 9 pounds, 10 ounces. While she was happy to see the baby, she was more thankful about the fact that the little Dwyer was healthy and well – in spite of his extra weight. According to Danielle, baby Dwyer was two weeks past his due date, and this could be one of the reasons he continued to grow in size. “He had a little extra time in there to cook, to grow,” said Dwyer.

Baby Dwyer’s overjoyed father said it was difficult to tell where his armpits where thanks to the fat rolls covering the chubby baby boy. Brian also clarified the reason behind the unusual middle name that the couple chose for the baby. “He was almost 14 pounds, under a blood red lunar eclipse. I don’t know what any of that means but it seems like the first few sentences of a tall tale.” He went on to add, “If there is one child who could own that name Waldo James Mysterious, I think that it’s him.” Also to be noted is the fact that the date baby Dwyer was born, April 14, 2014, reads the same backwards as well!

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the median birth weight for boys is just less than 8 pounds. The baby born to the now famous 12-year-old mother also weighed 7 pounds, as you may recall.
