Kobe Bryant: This Lakers Season Has Been ‘S***’

Kobe Bryant has labelled Los Angeles Lakers 2013/14 season as “s***,” after his side failed to progress to the postseason for just the third time in 30 years.

Bryant took to Twitter to announce:

Bryant, who is currently in his 18th season with the Lakers, has only managed to appear in six games during the current campaign, as he struggled to recover from a torn Achilles tendon injury.

Ahead of the team’s home finale, which will take place at the Staples Center on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs, Bryant is believed to have already left the country and traveled to France with his family.

However, some confusion has since arisen over Bryant’s current location after a Los Angeles Times reporter contacted the team for more information regarding his status. A team spokesman said he wasn’t aware of Bryant’s situation, before then telling him to speak to Rob Pelinka, Bryant’s agent, for more information. Pelinka then didn’t return the call.

You can’t really blame Bryant for wanting to leave the country, because the Lakers have a 26-55 record this season, which is the second-worst in the Western Conference and the sixth-worst in all of the NBA.

At last month’s team photo, Bryant was heard to mutter under his breath that he didn’t like to be associated with a team that had so many games under.500.

Meanwhile, he was also supposed to address the Lakers fans at the team’s home match on Sunday with Memphis. But he showed up late to the encounter, at halftime, and, according to a Lakers spokesman, he complained of a migraine which meant the couldn’t speak to those in attendance. Instead Nick Young took hold of a microphone and told Lakers fans that they were the best fans in the world.

Bryant’s prediction that the Lakers’ season will be epic next year suggests that there is set to be a massive overhaul of the squad that has performed so poorly over the last few months.

Alongside Bryant, Steve Nash and Robert Sacre are the only other two players that are expected to be kept on by the side, while they have been linked to the likes of Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James, but the latter will only make the switch if he decides to opt out of his Miami Heats contract this summer.
