Justin Bieber is "ready to make some changes in his life" and start being "positive."
Whether Justin Bieber is listening to his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, or being strong-armed by a task force of lawyers and PR handlers, or just terrified by the legal mess he's in isn't clear -- either way, the message from Camp Bieber is that the singer is now "ready to make some changes in his life" starting with having positive people around him.
If this is spin, it's good spin. And if it isn't, and it really is where the 20-year-old pop star is at -- even better.
Bieber's incident-filled 2013 during his Believe tour was surpassed within two weeks of 2014, when he allegedly egged his estranged ex-neighbor's residence in Calabasas, Calif., for which he may be charged. An arrest for suspected DUI followed on January 23, an assault charge in Toronto six days later.
Civil lawsuits are also in play, not to mention Bieber's probably-continued marijuana use.
However, baseless gossip reports of an alleged sizzurp habit are contradicted by his DUI toxicology report released January 31 which revealed no opiates were in his system.

Now a source close to Bieber has told E! News, the singer is "ready to make some changes in his life."
"There has been a real maturing recently," the insider went on."This whole process has been a growing period for him and he has finally woken up to realize what he needs to do to get back on track and be the Justin Bieber he used to be. He's ready to change and be a better person before it's too late."
Of Bieber's friends, some of whom may include hangers-on and opportunists who gravitate to young, famous stars with money, the source says:
"The bad influences in his life, for the most part are being weeded out," before adding that the singer is a "good kid" and is "making more of an effort to hang out with people who are positive influences in his life."
However, it was acknowledged that Bieber has been "out of balance recently."
Cynics will probably point to Justin's continued friendship with the rapper Lil Za - aka Xavier Smith - who was arrested during an egging-related raid at the singer's old Calabasas home in January for suspected drug possession. The substances found were later revealed to be MDMA and Oxycodone.
But, perhaps Lil Za, who is currently waiting to see whether his drug charges will be felony or misdemeanor, is also making personal changes.

Whether there has actually been any line-up changes in Bieber's crew isn't certain but the source insists the singer "has started listening to the people around him and he knows it is not too late to change things."
They added, "He's being more selective with his friends. He wants people around him that will help him and guide him and keep him on the right path."
The confidant was keen to stress the Biebs isn't about to suddenly come over all Amish, and said the "Baby" star has been told he can still have enjoy himself because he's "young and rich," but is now making the effort to be responsible and "look after himself."
To underline that point, E! were told Bieber's Tuesday night visit to Bootsy Bellows night club in West Hollywood was a straightforward hangout.

"Girls might have been trying to get his attention, but he was not interested at all," the insider added.
The reason for that will be clear to anyone aware of Bieber's surprise cameo during his pal Chance The Rapper's Coachella afternoon set at the music and arts festival on Sunday.
According to multiple reports, Selena watched from the side of stage was seen before and after the surprise performance holding hands with Justin.
People, Us Weekly and E! reported eyewitnesses who said the pair were inseparable, cozy, and "seemed content" as they watched sets by various artists at the festival. Photographs of the couple at Coachella posted by TMZ reflect these descriptions.
So it's likely Bieber is trying to make some changes and clean up his act. The love of a good woman -- and the fear of losing her --- may be the oldest motivation in the book, but it's also one of the strongest.
More positive signs of Justin's reported turnaround has seen the singer spending a lot of his time recording new music for his upcoming album, while teasing snippets of new videos and songs on his social media account. He has also been writing with other artists including his 15-year-old protégé Madison Beer and Young Money teen star, Austin Mahone.
On Wednesday (April 16), Bieber was snapped outside the Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, where he was seen smiling as he posed for pictures with waiting fans.
He later tweeted, "Got some big news coming."
Perhaps those positive changes are coming sooner than expected?
