Justin Bieber ‘Sizzurp Overdose’ Rumor: Is It True Or Tabloid Fiction?

Justin Bieber hit by possibly ludicrous ‘sizzurp overdose’ rumor from tabloid rag. Is it true? And if so, does Selena Gomez know the details and will she be forced to reveal all at her upcoming paparazzo deposition?

Weirdly, Justin Bieber’s reps have the least taxing job in celebrityville. Every media outlet and certainly every tabloid outlet knows they stopped addressing rumors and accusations around early fall 2013.

So now, with Bieber rumors, it’s a free-for-all.

That’s the context behind the new batch of possibly fantastical claims in the latest issue of Life & Style.

The tabloid claims an alleged insider revealed Bieber “overdosed on sizzurp” during a party held at his now-sold-to-Khloe-Kardashian Calabasas, California, mansion a few months ago

“He did a ‘double whammy’ – double the amount – of sizzurp, plus too much pot and alcohol. His friends put him in cold water to revive him. Then they made him throw up,” an inevitably anonymous source alleges to Life & Style.

Life and Style claim this dramatic rumor is just one of the many incidents Selena may know about, and may be questioned about under oath on April 23 in a Los Angeles deposition she has been subpoenaed to.

Gomez was served legal papers last month compelling her to testify in an ongoing lawsuit filed against Bieber by a paparazzo.

However, Bieber gave a urine sample to police after his January 23 arrest on suspicion of DUI in Miami Beach, along with co-arrestee, R&B singer Khalil Sharieff during what police described as an alleged drag race.

A subsequent toxicology report revealed Justin tested positive for marijuana and the anti-anxiety drug Xanax at the time of his arrest.

There was no trace of opiates in his system.

That knocks out sizzup use. The narcotic drink mixes the cough syrup base of promethazine and codeine with users typically adding candy and soda, and often alcohol.

Going by Life & Style’s claim that the alleged “sizzurp overdose” took place just “five months ago,” if Bieber was indeed taking sizzurp in December codeine would have shown up in his toxicology as opiates in January 2014.

It’s as simple as that.

It seems the tabloid, which has a history of publishing baseless rumors, has come undone based on its own stated timeline.

The magazine also suggests Biebervelli has anger issues, is partial to hookers and lost his virginity to a shy, retiring young nymph by the name of Miley Cyrus who he is allegedly still on and off with. Oh, and apparently Justin is sex-obsessed and plans to move in with Selena.

As reported in The Inquisitr last week when we examined several Bieber-Gomez rumors, all of them originated at tabloids and each one was based on anonymous “sources” which – as we have noted previously with gossip outlets – are often created by the site or publication to lend undeserved credibility to and sell a story.

The best kept secret in the pulsing, 24/7 entertainment news cycle? Possibly over 50% of gossip site ‘sources‘ are dreamed up by the outlets reporting the original claim, and even if some are real they are not always credible and sometimes can be actively misleading.

Such appears to be the case with Life & Style’s Bieber “sizzurp overdose” claim.

Coming back to the Bieber paparazzo-lawsuit Gomez has been subpoenaed to.

Paparazzo Jose Osmin Hernandez Duran claims Justin drop-kicked him in the stomach in a parking lot of The Commons shopping mall in May 2012, and alleges Selena saw the whole thing.

Duran’s lawyer — who will have taken notes from Bieber’s horror show of a deposition in March in another photographer lawsuit — will be counting on Gomez’s testimony to provide him with the material he needs to get substantial damages out of the singer for his client.

Media outlets, tabloids especially, are eagerly anticipating Gomez’s testimony in the Duran deposition.

Because Selena is not a defendant in the suit, the 21-year-old does not have the option of pleading the Fifth Amendment, which prevents a defendant from incriminating themselves in either a civil or criminal trial or legal setting.

Life & Style further allege that Selena knows about Bieber’s pals’ alleged attempts to get him into rehab for drinking and smoking and will have to open up about that if asked by Duran’s lawyer.

“She knows way too much that could get him [Biever] in trouble. She knows all about his late-night parties filled with weed and alcohol that usually went until nearly 6 am,” an increasingly hysterical but still anonymous source allegedly told the weekly.

During a March 6 deposition for another lawsuit against Bieber — filed by paparazzo Jeffrey Binion — the pop singer refused to answer any Gomez-related questions.

Since then Selena has been put on notice by Binion’s lawyer that she will be deposed in the same lawsuit.

Meanwhile, Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun has been subpoenaed to a May 15 deposition in Los Angeles which will be videotaped, as per Radar Online.

As for the “sizzurp overdose” allegations, notwithstanding the toxicology report, intelligent readers and reputable media outlets should see the fact that news of this alleged, traumatic event is only now surfacing and conveniently comes with no hard evidence – as a red flag.

Regardless, it may be the least of Bieber and Gomez’s problems by the time his pile-up of legal cases and the gossip-machine shredder get done putting their reignited relationship through the wringer.
