2014 NFL Draft Rumors: Eagles, Falcons Considering Trading Up To Top Of The Draft

As the 2014 NFL draft approaches, rumors are heating up and reports are trickling out that a handful of teams are looking to trade up to the top of the draft.

There is now less than a month to go until the draft, and the lack of a set-in-stone No. 1 pick like Andrew Luck has lent a great deal of uncertainty. There have been a handful of names thrown around for the Houston Texas and the top overall pick, and even rumors that some teams in the top 5 are looking to move down.

One of the biggest rumors around the 2014 NFL draft has surrounded the Philadelphia Eagles. With DeSean Jackson now departed to the Washington Redskins, there are reports that coach Chip Kelly wants to move up and grab one of the draft’s top receivers.

Experts believe the move would cost the Eagles a lot, but the team reportedly has their eyes on 6-foot-5, 225-pound Mike Evans, who has gotten favorable comparisons to Calvin Johnson.

The Eagles aren’t the only team rumors to be trading up in the 2014 NFL draft. There are also reports that the Atlanta Falcons may be trading up their No. 6 pick, which dovetails with rumors that the St. Louis Rams are shopping around their No. 2 pick.

The Falcons have big needs at offensive tackle and could use a good pass rusher, which at that place in the draft would be Jadeveon Clowney.

There are other teams reportedly interested in the Rams’ No. 2 pick. The Buffalo Bills have been rumored to be looking into a trade, and would likely be bolstering their run defense by taking hometown hero Khalil Mack from the University of Buffalo.

With the handful of game-changing players and a deep draft class, there will likely be plenty more rumors before the 2014 NFL draft finally comes.
