SELFIE Mirror Takes The Stress Out Of Taking ‘Selfies’

Taking a selfie can be such a pain. There is the prep work that goes into it, then the nearly impossible task of actually taking the photo. Now, there are two forms of selfies out there. First we have the arm-stretch selfie, which is quite self-explanatory. You know, where you stretch your arm out as far as it can go until we can fit our face into the shot. Then we have the mirror selfie where we face the phone to the bathroom mirror to capture a (sometimes) full body shot.

Seriously, taking a selfie shouldn’t be that difficult, am I right? Now, what if I told you that taking a selfie may be getting easier? Would you believe me? Well you should!

Let me introduce you to the S.E.L.F.I.E. – otherwise known as the “Self Enhancing Live Feed Image Engine.”

According to the Huffington Post, the S.E.L.F.I.E. mirror is the brilliant brain child of the marketing agency iStrategy Labs. This mirror will not only take your selfie for you, but according to Mashable, it will also post it directly to your Twitter feed. The iStrategy website reads as follows:

“Meet S.E.L.F.I.E., the “The Self Enhancing Live Feed Image Engine”. Triggered by simply standing in front of the mirror and holding a smile, hidden LED’s indicate a countdown, then simulate a “flash” as your photo is taken. The photo is then automatically posted to Twitter (with a watermark/logo).”

Mashable reported that the S.E.L.F.I.E. mirror is a two-way-mirror that has a Mac mini hidden behind it. A web cam and LED lights are also embedded behind the mirror. “The facial recognition software installed on the Mac recognizes you and initiates the photo-taking process; the LED lights indicate when the photo will be taken.”

According to the Huffington Post, this new S.E.L.F.I.E. mirror is still an experiment, so technically it’s not commercially available, but for those die-hard selfie takers out there, you can contact iStrategy with any and all inquiries. Are you a selfie enthusiast? No matter what your answer, tell us what you think of the new S.E.L.F.I.E. mirror, and in the mean time, check out some of these Twitter comments:
