Man Arrested After Pouring Hot Grease From a Frying Pan Onto His Girlfriend’s Face

Imagine enjoying a peaceful sleep, only to be awakened by a pan of hot, popping grease being thrown in your face straight from a frying pan. Pain, agony and utter shock are probably three feeling that would come to mind. While it seems almost unbelievable, one woman endured the agonizing incident at the hands of her boyfriend.

According to the Times Daily, the Tuscaloosa County Police Department arrested Anthony Dwayne McGraw on the morning of Sunday, Apr. 6. He has been charged with domestic violence after pouring scorching hot grease from a frying pan onto his girlfriend’s face.

Sources close to the couple explained that the opposition started as a verbal confrontation that concluded with the victim expressing her desire to end the relationship. However, things were far from over where McGraw was concerned.

The victim recounted the horrific incident, which took place around 4:00am that morning, explaining to authorities that she woke up to find McGraw standing over her with the pan of grease. Unfortunately, he was already pouring it onto her face before she had time to process what was actually happening and react.

As a result of the heinous act, the victim suffered severe burns to both her face and arms. She was immediately transported to UAB Hospital, where she is currently being treated in the burn unit.

Unfortunately, by the time officers responded to incident, McGraw was nowhere to be found. He had already fled the scene before the officers and paramedics arrived. However, his run from the authorities didn’t last long.

On Monday, Apr. 7, McGraw was tracked down by U.S. Marshals and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail. He has been charged with first-degree domestic violence assault. He is currently being held on a $60,000.

Authorities have indicated that the victim will survive the ordeal, but she still has a long road to recovery.
