‘Game of Thrones’ Adds More Porn Stars For Season 4
With the amount of sex that takes place in the HBO smash hit Game of Thrones, it almost makes sense that casting directors have gone the extra lengths to cast the right actors for their parts. Starting back in season one with the addition of Sibel Kekilli as Shae and season two’s casting of Maisie Dee & Sahara Knite as prostitutes working for Petyr Baelish, Game of Thrones has now enrolled six former or current porn stars to the show’s cast, with season four introducing us to Samantha Bentley, Jessica Jenson and Aeryn Walker.

The aforementioned Sibel Kekilli was the first former porn star to be cast on Game of Thrones and her role as Shae is by far one of the most in-depth on the show. The German actress plays the headstrong Shae opposite Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion. The pair met as lovers in season one and quickly blossomed into one of the more appealing couples on the show, though their love must remain a secret because of Tyrion’s status in the kingdom. Further complicating matters is Tyrion’s arranged marriage to Sansa Stark that will serve to further drive the pair apart and even put Shae in great danger.
According to an interview by the Wall Street Journal, Sibel sees dark things ahead for Shae and Tyrion:
“Without any spoilers, let me say it like this: Shae had [a] really tough life. And she had never had a foundation in her life until she met and fell in love with Tyrion, and Tyrion fell in love with her. She started to think she has a foundation in her life. And now, after they married—Sansa and Tyrion—it’s like, you know, shaking. It’s like an earthquake. It could stop, or it could be getting stronger.”
Prior to Game of Thrones, Kekilli was an adult film star. She’ll be joined by more former porn stars whose characters have not yet been defined. Samantha Bentley is an award winning British porn star named “Best Female Performer” at the UK Adult Producers Awards last year. Jessica Jensen was named “Best Newcomer” at the Producers Awards in 2011. Both actresses have been added to the official cast of Game of Thrones.
Meanwhile, Australian porn star Aeryn Walker has also joined the cast of Game of Thrones, but unlike Bentley and Jensen, her role is clearly defined. According to the NY Post, “she will appear as one of Craster’s wives in Season 4. If you’ve watched Game of Thrones you’ll know Craster as that creepy wildling who lives north of the wall.”
And if there is any concern that Game of Thrones is adding porn stars simply to make a splash in the ratings, think again. According to Entertainment Weekly, the ratings for Sunday’s premiere episode Two Swords was the best the show has ever seen on HBO with 6.6 million viewers.
