Gwyneth Paltrow And Chris Martin’s Open Marriage Was Falling Apart For Years [Report]
Now that the marriage between Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin is officially over, several accounts of what was taking place behind closed doors are surfacing. The latest report cite several friends of the “uncouple” saying they had an open marriage that had been falling apart for years.
The latest news, published by People magazine, following the “conscious uncoupling” of the famous pair suggests that the marriage was falling apart for a long time prior to the public announcement, which shocked many fans.
From the beginning, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin seemed like an odd couple in many regards, she was the sophisticated Oscar-winning actress (daughter of famous celebs Bruce Paltrow and Blythe Dannere) and he was the British rocker, frontman for the very popular band Coldplay.
But whatever the circumstances, Gwyneth and Chris were married for 10-years and had two children, ages eight and almost 10 and were seen on a post-split vacation in the Bahamas hanging out and enjoying the rays.
“They seemed to have a pretty mature handle on that crazy rotation of being superstars and parents,” a source said. “But that balance, given the time they had to spend apart, clearly couldn’t sustain itself.”
Because of their crazy lifestyles and different careers, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin were not seen together often. He was touring and she was attending some awards ceremony or premiere in Los Angeles or Europe.
Us Weekly reports the “uncouple” was having other problems as well, including differences in how to parent their kids, diet and where the family would settle down.
There are also reports that Gwyneth was a “Yoko Ono” type of spouse to members of Coldplay, who didn’t really like her and resented her for forcing Chris to move to Los Angeles and away from them, who are not only band mates, but close friends.
According to the Daily Mail, Paltrow’s parenting was a driving force behind the split, after she revealed that she only allowed her kids to watch TV in Spanish and French, not English, while Chris wanted to enjoy watching a DVD with them every once in a while.
Gwyneth had become somewhat obsessed with her diet and exercise regime and some sources say that Chris felt he was losing the woman he fell in love with.
Whatever the issues that finally broke them apart, Gwyneth Paltrow and her ex Chris Martin seem to be keeping to their word of being parents first and going on vacation as a family.
