Jessa Duggar Takes Boyfriend On Double Date With His Parents

Jessa Duggar is getting closer in her relationship with 18-year-old Ben Seewald, and things are getting so serious that she even took her new beau on a double date with his parents.

Jessa’s courtship has become a major story on the new season of 19 Kids and Counting, which chronicles the oversized Duggar family. In the latest episode, viewers saw the third-oldest Duggar daughter take Ben out on a date with his parents.

While there, the elder Seewald grilled Jessa Duggar about where the relationship is headed.

“I want to get to know you a little better tonight,” Ben’s dad told the 21-year-old Jessa. “You guys are courting now, officially, so it’s a committed relationship with the purpose of hopefully working towards marriage.”

When asked what she thought about Ben after he visited her church, Jessa Duggar said she was interested but not until she got her parents’ approval.

“Yeah, definitely I noticed him right off,” Jessa said. “I was like, ‘Hmm, he seems like a nice guy,’ but I never really consider a guy unless he’s approached my dad.”

The Duggar family is known for their strict views on dating, so while Jessa and Ben are courting they are forbidden from kissing or holding hands, and always have a chaperone on their dates.

While she’s guarded in the dating world, Jessa Duggar has begun to open up more about her past and her feelings on sexuality. In a recent book, Jessa revealed that she was once very self-conscious about her looks.

“I had friends who were really beautiful, and whenever we were together I compared myself to them and always came up lacking something,” she wrote. “I felt so ashamed and awkward that I couldn’t even talk to anyone about my feelings. I felt overwhelmed and stuck in that negative mind-set.”

Jessa Duggar isn’t the only sister headed toward marriage. Her sister Jill is also getting serious with her boyfriend, Derick Dillard. Both relationships will play a big role on 19 Kids and Counting this year.
