Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC Finally Landing On PC

PC gamers often get the short end of the stick when it comes to game releases and content updates which also appear on consoles, but it looks like the wait is almost over for PC players who are waiting on the Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC.

Gamespot is reporting that Battlefield 4 developer DICE has announced that players who have a Battlefield Premium membership can now download the Naval Strike DLC and begin playing the new content that it brings to the game. If you haven’t shelled out the $50 to become a Battlefield Premium member, then you’re going to have to wait a couple more weeks before you can download and play Naval Strke.

Console players have already had the latest Battlefield 4 DLC since March 25, when it was launched for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Playstation 4. The PC version of the Naval Strike DLC was delayed by DICE, who said that there was a concern regarding performance issues on mid-range to high-end PCs due to the combination of the DLC expansion’s release and other planned updates for the PC platform. DICE projected the PC release of Battlefield 4 Naval Strike for the beginning of April, and it became available to Battlefield Premium members on Monday March 31.

The Naval Strike DLC for Battlefield 4contains quite a bit new content for gamers to sink their teeth into according to Joystiq, including four all-new competitive multiplayer maps which are set in the South China Sea. The maps include Lost Islands, Nansha Strike, Wave Breaker, and Operation Mortar. There are also five brand new weapons being introduced into the game, as well as an amphibious hovercraft vehicle.

On top of all that, Carrier Assault mode will pay homage to the Titan game mode from Battlefield 2142, in which teams of players battle it out in order to try to sink the other team’s aircraft carrier.

“Both teams start on their own carrier and race to control the missile launchers placed on the map, by capturing the control points near them. This will automatically launch missiles towards the enemy carrier throughout the round, eventually destroying its hull and making it open for infantry attacks.” DICE said when introducing the Carrier Assault game mode back in March.

The wait is almost over for all PC gamers who have been waiting on the Naval Strike DLC for Battlefield 4, so get ready to conquer your enemies on new maps, and help your team achieve victory in Carrier Assault.
