“Sean more than handled himself,” Ryan recalled to the Associated Press Friday. “He was great.”

Now the two men will meet again with the stakes much higher. Miller is trying to lead his No. 1 Arizona Wildcats to the Final Four, but Ryan’s tough Wisconsin squad is in the way. The teams meet Saturday at 8:49 pm from Anaheim, California.

The difficulty of reaching the Final Four is not lost on Miller.

“It’s hard to get to a Final Four,” said Miller, who started his coaching career with Wisconsin in 1992. “You can be really good and not make it, both as a coach, a team and a player.”

The game will be the only No. 1 against No. 2 matchup of the tournament, and looks to be a defensive struggle.

“We are tough, nasty and relentless,” said Arizona freshman Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

Wisconsin players are also anticipating a physical game.

“We’re looking to draw fouls and throw them off-balance a little bit with early foul trouble,” said Ben Brust, Wisconsin’s leading career 3-point shooter.
