53-Year-Old Babysitter Kills Baby, Takes Dead Body To The Hospital On a City Bus

When you think of a 53-year-old babysitter, you would probably envision a mothering figure – maybe even a grandmother. But, that wasn’t the case with Vanessa Denise Hawkins Scott.

According to the KTLA, Hawkins Scott has been charged with the murder of 4-year-old Mya Migneault. She was supposedly babysitting the child. But, given her actions, she does not exactly fit the description of your typical babysitter. So, let’s just say she was supposed to be babysitting the child. Instead, the Los Angeles woman is reportedly accused of brutally beating the infant.

After Migneault was nonresponsive, Scott opted to take her to a local hospital. However, she didn’t call the paramedics. Instead, she chose to take a city bus to transport the child’s dead baby the Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. Like I said before – not your typical babysitter.

Authorities explained that the child was officially pronounced dead at the hospital although she’d been unresponsive even before Hawkins Scott brought her in. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office reports that Migneault died from abdominal blunt force trauma.

Her death was ruled a homicide, and Hawkins Scott was detained by the Los Angeles Police Department. She has been charged with assault on a child causing death and child abuse. As unbelievable as it all may seem, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office reported that Scott even pleaded guilty to the charges.

Family members of the deceased child later explained that she and her mother didn’t even reside in California. The two were actually visiting from Florida. Unfortunately, their visit took a fatal turn at the hands of Hawkins Scott. Hopefully justice will be served. Hawkins Scott is currently being held on a $1.1 million bond. Prosecutors have already stated that if she is convicted she faces the possibility of life in prison.
