Lana Del Rey Confirms Performance At Glastonbury Festival

Lana Del Rey is now bigger than ever. Not only is she selling albums like hot cakes but she’s gearing up to make quite the powerful comeback. Just today Lana Del Rey confirmed that she will be performing at the Glastonbury Festival.

In a move to take the summer by storm, Rey will be taking to the stage on Saturday June 28 during the festival’s second day of the annual music fest. Glastonbury isn’t the “Summertime Sadness” crooner’s only stop for the summer. In fact, Lana, who just updated the diary section on her agent’s website, will be performing for numerous dates.

Some of the other festival dates that fans can catch the singer live are as follows:

“Bergen Festival in Norway on June 14, Zitadelle in Berlin, Germany, Sporting Summer Event in Monaco on July 4, Vida Festival in Spain on July 5, Cork Live at Marquee on July 15 in Ireland and Rock In Seine in Paris on August 25.”

The fact that the Glastonbury Festival date aligns perfectly with the release of her new album doesn’t seem like a coincidence. As we previously reported, Lana’s sophomore album Ultraviolence is sat to be released on May 1. Of her latest record the singer said that it’s “so good that it made me forget about the last record. I’m just in love with it.”

The singer continued to speak about her very different album:

“It’s more stripped down but still cinematic and dark. I’ve been working on it really slowly but I love everything I’ve done. I’ve been writing in Santa Monica and I know what the record sounds like. Now I just have to finish it.”

Lana also tweeted about the new album which acted as a confirmation that it was actually being released:

An additional tweet from Lana’s friend Lady Gaga was unexpected but welcomed as the “Edge of Glory” singer tweeted what the cover will look like:

As we previously reported, this summer kicks off the year of the comeback for Lana Del Rey. Lana kicks off her tour on April 11 in Las Vegas, a two day stint in Coachella, and will embark on an additional seventeen stops around the United States. The tour will end on May 27 in Seattle, Washington, which is just enough time for the singer to get ready for the rest of the festival performances.
