Veronica Berti Marries Boyfriend Of 12 Years Andrea Bocelli
Veronica Berti married her boyfriend of 12 years, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, on Friday at the Sanctuary of Madonna di Montenero in Tuscany, Italy. The tenor said to reporters: “Naturally, when two people feel like we do, they want to make it a permanent arrangement.”
The couple already has a daughter together,Virginia, and their wedding coincided with her second birthday. It was also the first day of spring, so the day had a few meaningful elements to it.
Veronica Berti and Andrea Bocelli met back in 2002, and have been together ever since. Berti served as Bocelli’s manager, as well as being his lover.
This isn’t the first time Bocelli has walked down the aisle; he was previously married to Enrica Cenzatti for a decade.
Bocelli said in the past that the reason he and Berti weren’t rushing to get married was because he was a Catholic divorcee. This was regardless of the fact that they were living together for over ten years – presumably “in sin” – in a villa in Forte dei Marmi overlooking the Mediterranean.
The wedding in Tuscany was an intimate affair, attended by only a small group of friends and family, including Bocelli’s sons Amos and Matteo. Veronica Berti’s wedding dress was every bit as stunning as one would have expected.
She wore an ivory silk satin Ermanno Scervino gown embellished with Valenciennes lace, and featuring a silk georgette layer. Over the dress, the stunning bride sported a quilted crepe-de-chine padded jacket, which complimented her look perfectly.
Bocelli, who is a good 25 years older than his new bride, also looked pretty dapper wearing a blue three-piece silk suit by Corneliani and a white rose in his lapel which matched his bride’s bouquet.
Bocelli’s success in the world of pop and classical music is made even more impressive if you consider that he was born with congenital glaucoma, and became totally blind when he was just 12 years old. He was struck on the head during a football game which aggravated the condition.
