Tamara Ecclestone, Husband Jay Rutland Welcome First Child [Photos]
Formula One heiress Tamara Ecclestone and husband Jay Rutland are proud parents of a baby girl they named Sophia, as she confirmed the news by posting beautiful pictures on Twitter and Instagram.
Tamara announced she was pregnant in September of 2013, and now the proud new mom is glowing in the snaps she shared on social media.
Her Insta photo has a caption that shows all the excitement Tamara Ecclestone is feeling at the birth of her bundle of joy:
“Welcome to the world Sophia, our beautiful baby girl, born yesterday 6lb 9oz. Proudest day of our lives, never felt love like this. X”

Of course, Ecclestone’s hair is perfectly styled and she is wearing just the right amount of make up, while baby peacefully sleeps in her arms and bare chest.
The new arrival comes a year after she met Rutland — a former Pacific Continental senior broker — and got engaged within a one-month span. The couple married in the French Riviera last summer in an event that reportedly cost over $11 million.
Tamara Ecclestone — who is the daughter of Formula One magnate Bernie Ecclestone — told Hello magazine that seeing her sister, Petra, become a first time mom opened her eyes to what is means to bring a child into the world.
“It also gave me a reality check that it isn’t just about buying cute baby clothes.” the 29-year-old personality told the magazine.
In February of 2013, Tamara and Jay, 31, gave an exclusive interview to Hello in which they talked about their whirlwind romance that lasted four weeks and ended in their engagement.
“Our engagement has been very sudden and I get that there are people who won’t understand that and will read things into it, but my response to that would be, ‘When you know, you know.’
“The thing is, I’d heard people say that before and I’d never really understood it, because I hadn’t experienced it for myself. But when I met Jay, I just knew this was the man I was going to marry.”
Ecclestone announced on Twitter that she and Jay were going on a “babymoon” in Switzerland.
Now that baby is here, Tamara Ecclestone has no doubt her man will be an involved dad who won’t hesitate to help her with their little Sophia, saying, “He isn’t selfish at all. I can totally see him getting up at night to help me.”
