2008’s Best Viral Videos and Worst Tech Embarrassments


It’s that time when we start looking back at the good, the bad, and the ugly of the past year. First up, move over, crying Britney dude — 2008 has some new (and slightly less creepy) favorite viral videos.

Online video tracking service TubeMogul released its list of the 10 most popular online videos of the year over at Silicon Alley Insider. The list is said to be based purely on traffic. Here’s the breakdown:

10. Jonas Brothers: “When You Look Me In The Eyes”

9. Leona Lewis: “Better In Time”

8. T.I.: “Whatever You Like”

7. Obama Campaign Speech On Race

6. Jason Mraz: “I’m Yours”

5. Chris Brown: “Forever”

4. Rihanna: “Take a Bow”

3. Katie Couric interviews Sarah Palin

2. Miley Cyrus: “7 Things”

1. Jonas Brothers: “Burnin’ Up”

Pretty weak turnout, eh? Where’s Chocolate Rain when you need him?
