Paul Walker Replaced By Brother Cody And CGI For Brian O’Conner?

Will Paul Walker be replaced by his brother Cody Walker and CGI movie effects for the role of Brian O’Conner in Fast And Furious 7?

In a related report by The Inquisitr, Paul Walker’s sunglasses and other items from the scene of his death were auctioned off, prompting much anger from fans.

So far we don’t know much about the production of Fast and Furious 7 other than that filming will resume on March 31, 2014. Actor Tyrese Gibson, who plans Roman Pearace, is the first to publicly make a comment the return of the movie, but all he had to say was “I’m back” while posting an Instagram photo of Dubai:

A Twitter account called Everything Georgia tweeted out where the filming would take place:

“Fash & Furious 7 has resumed filming in Atlanta. Shooting will effect Fairlie Street, Marietta Street & Centennial Olympic Park Dr this week.”

The tweet was taken down, presumably because they were hoping to avoid a rush of avid fans. Atlanta downtown businesses received notification that filming would “include automotive stunts, simulated combat, and special effects.”

But the real question is how Fast and Furious 7 will handle the death of Paul Walker. Before he passed away he had already been filmed for some scenes in the movie. Universal previously released a statement that said it was their “responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.”

Since multiple reports insist that Brian O’Conner will be in the movie in some fashion there remains only several options. The first is that the script was rewritten to minimize the character Paul Walker used to play. The only other option for continuing FF 7 would be to go the CGI route. After all, computer animation has advanced to the point that a young Arnold Schwarzenegger could be featured in a Terminator movie — so it’s possible the role of Walker’s character could be augmented with voice synthesizing technology.

But using Paul’s brother Cody Walker in addition to CGI effects is an idea that inside sources claim is being considered:

“They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it’s a shot they need Paul’s face in close up they can CGI it later on. If Cody agrees it’s because he wants to honor his brother’s memory. There are many details that still need to be worked out, but right now the family and cast and crew are all still grieving.”

So far, news of Cody Walker’s decision has not come out. The only thing we know for certain is that Cody is currently busy as brand manager for Reach Out WorldWide, a charity set up by Paul Walker before his death that helps sends teams to disaster areas.
