Amber Alert: Four Los Angeles Children Reportedly Abducted By Parents

An Amber alert was issued for four Los Angeles area children who disappeared from their grandmother’s Boyle Heights home east of the city’s downtown area.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) issued the Amber alert at 5:00 am on Saturday after the young children were reported missing Friday, at 12:30 pm when their parents Rosa Chairez and Enrique Felix — both 28-years-old — removed them from the home.

The Department of Children and Family Services removed the kids from the custody of the parents and placed them under the care of the maternal grandmother. Chairez and Felix were only allowed to have supervised visits in the presence of social workers.

The missing children have been identified as seven-year-old Enrique Felix, five-year-old Justin Felix, one-year-old Veronica Felix, and one-year-old Janeth Felix.

Police said the father was last seen driving the family in a dark-colored PT Cruiser — either black or purple — in the 1400 block of North Indiana Street. The vehicle had a white paper license plate with numbers in black letters and was missing a rear hub cap.

It is unclear whether Chairez went with Felix voluntarily, as police reports that the man was abusive towards the mother and children, which was the reason the kids were placed under protective custody.

According to the LAPD the children went missing after the parents visited the grandmother and forcibly took them from the house on Friday, resulting in the Amber alert.

The father, Enrique Felix is described as a male Hispanic with black hair, brown eyes, five-feet-10 inches tall, and weighs approximately 220 pounds.

Rosa Chairez is described as a female Hispanic with red hair and brown eyes, five-feet-two-inches tall, and weighs about 150 pounds.

The children are all described as having brown eyes and black hair.
