Are Katy Perry and Lady Gaga the same? Well, these comparisons don’t have Mother Monster angry at the other pop star but she did f-bomb anyone who dares suggest the idea that a Katy Perry, Lady Gaga feud exists.
In a related report by The Inquisitr, one example of how different can be is how Lady Gaga hired vomit artist Millie Brown to spew green goo all over her during a live performance. Although Gaga was worried Millie might “quit in the middle of the show” she says their relationship stems back to years in the past:
“I’ve known Millie [Brown] for I think like five years now and we’ve actually collaborated before… she was just in town and so we thought we would collaborate again. It was just exciting to see people talk about performance art on the internet. We really just did it because we believe in the performance and we believe in what it meant to the song.”
So, yeah, you won’t see Katy Perry performing live while covered in vomit, meat suits, or whatever else Lady Gaga might cover herself in next. But they’re still compared in many ways due to the style of their music. They also happen to be close in age, with Gaga being 27 and Perry being age 29 (uh oh… she’s about to be a 30-something old lady!). It was also believed there was some sort of competition going on since Lady Gaga’s Applause and Katy Perry’s Roar were released on the same day.
Gaga is officially putting these ideas to rest. She says she “really likes Katy Perry and I like her fans.” But the lovey-dovey attitude comes to a stop when it comes to comparing their art:
“I don’t know what the [expletive]-all I have to do with Katy Perry. Our music is so completely different. I couldn’t be more different, really. I really don’t fit in pop music in a way, but I came through it and I’d like to think I changed it in some way so you can feel like you don’t have to fit into a mold.”
Do you consider the music of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga pretty much in the same category?
