Cameron Diaz Thinks People Spend Too Much Time Searching For Eternal Youth

Cameron Diaz doesn’t have an interest in trying to defy the laws of nature. In her opinion, people spend too much time, energy, and cash in their quest for eternal youth.

Of course, some people would argue that it’s easy to take such a stance when you look like Cameron Diaz. The woman is aging pretty gracefully, though not all of us are quite so lucky. However, the actress believes that letting nature do its thing is better than going under the knife.

According to Diaz, a lot of this stress and anxiety has to do with the media’s obsession with youthful women. Instead of allowing ladies to grow old gracefully, the public essentially forces them to find way to fight the clock and turn back time.

Cameron shared her opinion about growing older during a recent conversation with Oprah Winfrey. The actress said that some people are a little too obsessed with the fact that she’s aging naturally.

“Women don’t allow other women to age gracefully. And we don’t give ourselves permission to age gracefully,” Cameron Diaz told Winfrey during their chat.

The Charlie’s Angels star added, “For me I feel like if I—it’s almost as if we have failed if we don’t remain 25 for the rest of our lives. Like we are failures. It’s a personal… failure. Like our fault that at 40 years old that I still don’t look like I’m 25.”

According to E! Online, folks who want to learn more about Cameron Diaz and her opinions about aging gracefully should tune into OWN at 9 pm this Sunday (March 16). The actress sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a special entitled Cameron Diaz & Sharon Stone: Aging Gracefully.

In case you haven’t heard, the actress has quite a few opinions to share with the world these days. When she isn’t discussing the struggles women face as they get older, she’s sharing her thoughts about pubic hair. Yes — pubic hair.

“I hear that there’s a big fad these days of young women undergoing laser hair removal on all of their lady bits. Personally, I think permanent laser hair removal sounds like a crazy idea. Forever?” she wrote in her literary endeavor The Body Book.

She continued, “I know you may think you’ll be wearing the same style of shoes forever and the same style of jeans forever, but you won’t. The idea that vaginas are preferable in a hairless state is a pretty recent phenomenon, and all fads change, people.”

Are you a fan of Cameron Diaz? Do you agree that people spend too much of their time and energy trying to defeat the aging process?
