The 24 trailer for the new 12-part series event is just about as intense of a half minute as you can find anywhere online. After going off the air in 2010, the series has gotten a reboot with 24: Live Another Day.
In case you have been wondering what Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) has been up to for the last few years, this trailer wastes no time in letting you know that Bauer is one of those people whom drama simply seems to follow.
As Rolling Stone reports, the new 24 trailer finds Jack on the run in London — apparently in an effort to ensure that the impending assassination of United States President James Heller (William Devane) does not occur.
Although there are not necessarily a lot of spoilers included in the 30-second 24 trailer, there are a few things that can be learned by a close viewing of the video.
People Aren’t Happy with Jack
The 24 trailer includes an unhappy CIA agent played by Benjamin Bratt watching Bauer’s movements around London on a security camera. In the mean time, the president’s chief of staff (Tate Donovan) exclaims “Jack Bauer is a traitor — and a psychopath.” It appears in this 24 trailer that the more things change the more they stay the same for Jack.
There’s a Sniper on the Roof
Supposedly this sniper in the green jacket that we see on the roof of a building in the 24 trailer is one of the bad guys Jack is trying to stop. If past seasons of 24 have taught us anything, though, it is that Jack will likely uncover layers upon layers of people who he will need to stop.
World War III?
Whatever it is that is going on, Jack seems to be pretty confident that a world war could break out because of it. The 24 trailer includes a clip of him saying it.
“If an American president is assassinated on foreign soil, you’re looking at a world war.”
Audrey is Back
The one consistent companion (at least as consistent as they get) for Jack has been Audrey Raines (Kim Raver). The 24 trailer doesn’t really give us a glimpse of what Jack’s and Audrey’s relationship now is, but we’re going to go ahead and go off on a limb and say it’s probably “complicated” to say the least.
Chloe’s Back Too
Aside from Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub (who plays Jack’s most-trusted sidekick Chloe O’Brian) has appeared in more episodes of 24 than anybody else. Based on this 24 trailer, it doesn’t look like anybody else is going to catch up to her record.
