Are Jared Leto And Lupita Nyong’o An Item? New Photos Suggest Otherwise

It turns out Jared Leto is just an awards season flirt.

The 42-year-old actor, who took home Best Supporting Actor for his role in Dallas Buyers Club last week at the Oscars, has been linked to fellow Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o throughout awards season thanks in part to an acceptance speech at the Independent Spirit Awards as reported earlier in the month by Inquisitr. Leto, who also took home the award for Best Supporting Actor at that ceremony as well, openly thanked his “future ex-wife” when he collected his trophy on stage, opening the proverbial can of worms that had him and Nyong’o linked as a couple as a result.

But according to new photos found on the Daily Mail, the Jared and Lupita rumors can seemingly be put to rest. Nyong’o was seen photographed with Somali-Canadian rapper K’naan, real name Keinan Abdi Warsame, not Leto, outside of her post Oscar taping of Live With Kelly and Michael on Monday March 3rd in New York City. The two appeared rather close to each other, with K’naan even holding Lupita’s Oscar trophy in one hand while cradling her in another. From the looks of things, and the mere fact that she entrusted K’naan with her Oscar, the Leto and Lupita pairing was indeed just rumor.

This is not the first time Jared Leto has openly courted someone during awards season, or been linked in some way romantically with another actress thanks to his behavior on the red carpet. Last month he was caught openly flirting with Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke on the SAG Awards red carpet.

Leto, with his arms around Clarke, told her “I haven’t seen your show, but I know people are obsessed with it and say it’s absolutely amazing.” Emilia seemed equally responsive when she replied to Jared about his role as 30 Seconds to Mars front man, before also acknowledging his role in Dallas Buyers Club. The courtship, caught on camera by E! at the time, continued with Leto complimenting Emilia’s eyes, calling them “mesmerizing.”

Even his now infamous speech where he thanked his “future ex-wife” Nyong’o at the Independent Spirit Awards was prefaced with references to other women in his life when he said: “I want to thank all the women I’ve been with and all the women who think they’ve been with me.”
