Mariah Carey Drops New Single And Hits The Pool

Mariah Carey has kept somewhat of a low profile for Mariah standards after she was booted from American Idol’s judging panel. That’s all about to change now that she’s gearing up to release her new album. Recently Carey announced that she was dropping a new single called “You’re Mine (Eternal)” which is a softer and more R&B sound for Carey, who has been playing around with elements of hip hop on her tracks since the beginning of the millennium.

Carey’s “You’re Mine (Eternal)” is the third single off of her fourteenth album The Art of Letting Go. Although this is Carey’s third single from the album, the catalogue of songs has yet to be released. It’s believed that The Art Of Letting Gowill be released on May 6, which will mark new material from the powerhouse in five years. Her last release was back in 2009 called Memoirs Of A Perfect Angel. Carey’s last commercial success is technically The Emancipation of Mimi which was released back in 2005.

In addition to gearing up to release new music Mariah has been getting family time in with her twins who she affectionately refers to as “dembabies.” Carey posed in her gold bikini as she had a fun pool day with her children Monroe “Roe” and Moroccan “Roc”, who turn three next month. Carey shared her fun day with her fraternal twins on Instagram, posting family photos of her hanging at the “fresh ocean breeze” to her 14.9 million followers on the social networking site.

Her second photo was of “Dembabies” with a caption that read “Dembabies living for that water!” as the twins enjoyed a swim. Carey and husband Nick Cannon started a site for their twins where they frequently post photos of Roc and Roe in addition to the occasional Instagram photo that they share with followers. For Carey this is a good way to control the outlet of how she decides to share her twins. Even so, the singer still divulges a bit of her life with publications every now and then.

Last month she opened up to People magazineabout her twins making an appearance on her new album.

“It’s a song that I wrote with Bryan-Michael Cox and Jermaine Dupri. There’s a part that Jermaine says on the song that [the kids] loved, and Monroe started to say it. I kept having to get my iPhone and record her. So I have all these different takes of her saying things, singing things. Then I’d be like, ‘This is your new ad lib — learn it!’ I have to make it fun for her.”
