iPhone 6 Release Date Rumors Have Apple Bumping Up To Late Summer

iPhone 6 release date rumors are starting to ramp up as Apple’s WWDC 2014 is the next big event on the mobile tech slate. On the heels of the Android and Windows dominated MWC in Barcelona, Apple is ready to start getting back all the attention. The iPhone 6 is obviously the most anticipated of their announcements, though what they will do about the iPad Air, iPad Mini, and iPad Pro situation is being watch closely as well.

Most analysts rumors have been conservatively predicting a fall iPhone 6 release date. But according to Apple watcher Peter Misek, a late Summer release date is much more likely. Part of the rush is related to the buzz surrounding Sony’s Xperia 2 line of phones and tablets. They absolutely stole the show at MWC with their design, waterproof features, high quality camera, and fast processing speeds. So far, Sony has not tried to challenge the iPhone saturated market in the U.S., but the buzz around their newest product may change that.

iPhone 6 rumors have suggested a number of possibilities, most notably a more durable phone with sapphire crystal to protect the display from the number one iPhone killer, broken glass. The biggest news surrounding the internal a8 processor for the iPhone 6 is that Samsung is probably not developing it. Instead, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has been involved in the project, reportedly making more chips than Samsung. It is expected that the new chip will involve a motion sensing co-processor.

Upon adding fingerprint scanning last year, Apple needs to go big on some feature to keep the buzz of the iPhone 6 alive. One of the biggest changes may be a need to keep pace with the always evolving smartphone market. Companies like Nokia, Samsung, Sony, HTC, and LG are all releasing several different sizes of their phones. The onslaught of the mid-tiered phone is having a global impact that Apple probably won’t ignore.

An iPhone 6 release date was rumored to be coming alongside of the WWDC in June, but Misek believes the production of displays for the phones is slowing things down. This latest information is sure to get the rumor mill buzzing. But there are still big questions about Apple’s future. The iPhone has owned the American market primarily because of ingenuity. Lately, they seem to be more reactionary in their design and spec changes. It could be possible that a big new idea is coming soon from Apple.

If the iPhone 6 release date is set for late Summer, what features are you looking forward to having?
