Bill Murray Gets Wild With Amy Poehler At Post-Oscar Party

Bill Murray paid an emotional tribute to director Harold Ramis at the 2014 Academy Awards, but afterward he was all play as he and a group of big name stars decided to manhandle Amy Poehler.

The incident happened at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where Murray joined Bill Hader, Paul Rudd, Andy Samberg, Nick Offerman, and Adam Scott in picking up Amy Poehler — then dropping her (on purpose, of course).

The lighthearted moment was captured by photographers — or rather, staged for photographers — and showed Bill Murray holding Poehler upside down by her midsection while Paul Rudd grabbed her ankles.

It was only a couple hours earlier that Murray paid tribute to his frequent collaborator and friend Harold Ramis. Murray acted in a number of Harold’s films, including Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, and Groundhog Day.

As Murray was onstage announcing nominees for Best Cinematography, he gripped Amy Adalms’ hand and looked skyward, then paid tribute to his old friend.

“We forgot one,” Bill Murray said after finishing the list of nominees. “Harold Ramis for Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day.”

It seems that Murray wanted a light-hearted moment after what appeared to be an emotionally draining award night.

Notorious for his partying and pranks, Murray found a good partner in Amy Poehler. Curiously, he was the one person involved in the prank that seems the least connected with her — the others in the shot included her Parks and Recreation co-stars, and Samberg appeared in Saturday Night Live alongside Poehler.

If they weren’t close before, Bill Murray and Amy Poeher certainly are now!
