Lea Michele On Life After Cory Monteith: ‘I Can’t Be Alone Forever’

Lea Michele is still recovering from the death of boyfriend and Glee star Cory Monteith. However, the actress admitted that she can’t spend the rest of her life alone.

The 27-year-old recently sat down for a chat with Glamour magazine, a conversation that included what life is like following Monteith shocking and untimely passing. In addition to discussing the possibility of finding love once again, Michele talked about how she’s trying to put her life back in order.

Although Lea admits that she probably won’t get involved in a serious relationship anytime soon, the “Cannonball” singer admitted that she she’ll eventually start dating again. Michele added that getting used to being alone was extremely difficult.

“I was under a Cory Monteith spell… it’ll take time to readjust my mind and I’m really not wanting to do that right now. I feel like it’s so important to make sure that I’m 100 percent okay before I can get into a relationship. But people have to understand that I can’t be alone forever. Cory wouldn’t want that,” Lea told Glamour.

Moving on after Cory Monteith’s death isn’t something Lea Michele likes to think about these days. However, she admitted that things are slowly but surely starting to return to something that resembles normalcy.

“At the start, it’s hard because you’re so physically and mentally shocked and damaged, but after a while you get tired of physically feeling so horrendous, so I started doing yoga, which really helped. Then gradually your mind catches up with your body,” Michele said.

The Inquisitr previously reported that Lea said the relationship she had with Cory ultimately helped her survive during this extremely difficult period of her life. The Glee star told best friend Jonathan Groff that she continues to pull strength from Monteith.

Michele explained during the interview:

“I somehow feel the insane love Cory and I had for each other morphed into this strength that I have right now. There’s just something about knowing he’s watching everything I’m doing and feeling like I have to do everything now not just for me but for him. I also have a safety net below me — if I fall or if it’s too much, my friends and family will be there to catch me.”

Lea Michele is preparing to release her debut album Louder next week. Fans of the Glee star can pick up the collection of songs from a number of digital and brick-and-mortar retailers on March 3. Check out her full interview about Cory Monteith in the latest issue of Glamour UK.
