Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke Get Back Into Character In New ‘Sin City 2’ Images

Jessica Alba and Mickey Rourke easily slipped back into character for the highly-anticipated sequel Sin City 2. In fact, you’d think they filmed the follow-up shortly after the original flick landed in theaters nine years ago.

Of course, Alba receives definitely deserves of the praise. Jessica looks exactly the same as she did back in 2005, which is either thanks to good genetics, a great personal trainer, or superb CGI. Rourke, on the other hand, is completely obscured by special effects makeup. Still, there’s certainly no mistaking Marv’s iconic look.

Jessica Alba joins a number of new and old faces for directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Although the movie was originally slated to arrive in theaters last year, the film was ultimately bumped into 2014. Unless something else happens behind-the-scenes, the sequel should arrive in US theaters towards the end of the summer.

According to the folks at Slashfilm, Jessica Alba’s character has a changed a bit since the last installment. Instead of spending most of the movie getting rescued by a guy, she’s determined to get a little revenge herself.

“You see a little girl in that first film. By the end of this, she’s the avenging angel,” Rodriguez explained to Entertainment Weekly.

Alba told Collider last year that her character wasn’t included in the original Dame to Kill For graphic novel. However, this didn’t stop Miller and Rodriguez from bringing her back for the movie.

Jessica told the website:

“Mine is an original story so there wasn’t a lot to base it off of, but Frank [Miller] has been drawing. So it’s just crazy. It was neat to see their process, Robert and Frank’s, and their collaboration and what they inspire from each other and get out of each other and what they’re creating. It’s really like the 2.0 version of ‘Sin City’ and it’s pretty amazing.”

Fans of Jessica Alba can catch the actress in Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For when the movie arrives in theaters on August 22. Are you planning to catch the sequel on the big screen?
